Paul Conroy BSc(hons) AWCF

Born in Lancashire, England, Paul Conroy developed a passion for horses and farriery from an early age. At 16, he enlisted in the British Army and served for 12 years with Household Cavalry Mounted Regiment, taking part in prestigious ceremonial duties including Trooping the Colour, The State Opening of Parliament, and The Queen’s Guard at Horse Guards Parade.

Paul began his farriery career within the regiment forge in 1995, qualifying as a farrier in 1999 before establishing his own practice following his departure from the army in 2003 — a business he continues to run today.

Holding two degrees in Farriery Science and the Associate qualification of Worshipful Company of Farriers, Paul combines traditional craftsmanship with modern equine science. Alongside his clinical and practical work, he also lectures at a leading UK farriery school and has delivered clinics, lectures, and educational workshops internationally.

HØØF was founded on a simple principle — creating honest, effective hoof care products built from real-world experience rather than marketing trends. With nearly 30 years in the profession and a deep technical understanding of equine anatomy, physiology, and biomechanics, Paul designed HØØF to bridge the gap between scientific knowledge and practical everyday hoof care.

Every product is developed with performance, function, and long-term hoof health in mind, reflecting the same standards, discipline, and attention to detail that have shaped Paul’s career throughout the farriery industry.
